T-Day Weekend
We had our first overnight houseguests over Thanksgiving weekend: my sister Celine and brother-in-law Grant.
Our menu:
Jello-sour-cream-cranberry salad (this is the most ghetto recipe I have in my repertoire)
Spinach salad
Roasted turkey and gravy
Pommes dauphine (aka puffed potatoes)
Roasted root vegetables with balsamic glaze
Wild mushroom stuffing with chestuts
Pumpkin bread
Individual Grand Marnier souffles
Um, yum!
We had 5 bottles of wine in the course of evening, leaving some of us dancing in the kitchen.
It was a perfect Thanksgiving -- food, family, and laughter.
